Growing Lay Buddhist Chapters

Our growing North American Shin Buddhist Association (NASBA), now extends beyond the North American Continent. We focus on practice, fellowship and group development, providing technical, financial, organizational support and giving assistance to affiliated sanghas and groups.  Below is a direct link to NASBA's web site.

NASBA Communities and Groups include:

BUDDHIST FAITH FELLOWSHIP OF CONNECTICUT.  This is the NASBA's flagship community, which was founded in 2001. It gathers on most Sunday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Mansfield Freeman Center for East Asian Studies at Wesleyan University in Middletown. It offers a full array of spiritual programs and is the headquarters and model fellowship for all NASBA communities. In addition, it's now New England's largest Shin community with chapters throughout the North and South America.

BUDDHIST 12 STEP GROUP.  This non-sectarian chapter, which is part of our Social Action Project, is focused on the mindful recovery from all sorts of craving and addiction such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, eating, relationships, porn and nicotine. It integrates the traditional 12 steps with the Noble Eightfold Path and Pure Land teachings. Meetings include inspirational Buddhist scriptural readings, silent meditation, mindfulness, prayer and plenty of discussion. Gathers most Mondays at 7 p.m. in Middletown.
